Home Theater - it works!

amplifiers, speaker systems, a wide screen television, a flat screen television or even a projector all together.

Home Theater Installation is a trend that continues, and the development of better sound and picture goes fast. Depending on what you have for appliances, and how new and how advanced they are, there are different ways to connect them. The advice in this article is general; contact your hi-fi dealer for advice about your particular facility.

The speakers can be five, six or seven in number, plus a so-called subwoofer, and placed under a given pattern. Two front speakers on either side of the TV and a center speaker in between, if possible at the same height, and two surround speakers behind on either side of the couch you're sitting in. It is important that the latter are not positioned well away from ears. The system has six speakers, place the extra surround speaker behind my couch, and move the other two surround speakers slightly forward and out to the sides. Do you have seven speakers; place the two surround speakers behind the sofa, and two on either side of it.

The subwoofer does not stand on any specific place, but its placement is still important for the sound. One tip that Hi-Fi Club offers is to disconnect all the other speakers, set the subwoofer on the couch and crawl around until you find a spot in the room where the bass sounds best - where the subwoofer should be.

An active subwoofer has a built-in amplifier and connected to home theater amplifier via an analog signal with a so-called RCA connector at each end. Does the subwoofer a stereo input, there is a cable version with two RCA plugs on one end. A passive subwoofer is connected by regular speaker wire. Subwoofers typically offer the opportunity to set the parameters as level, crossover frequency and phase adjustment.

The other speakers connected to each output of the amplifier. Strip the speaker wire and ensure that it does not fray when you turn it on. Alternatively, you can buy banana plugs to attach the cable in. Make sure to disconnect the plus and minus the right to all speaker!
