If we want to know about the servo drives then the first thing that we must know about it is that it is a special kind of electronic amplifier. The most important function of the servo drive is to amplify the signal as the input command says. The motion production and transmit of the signals is all based on the command of the input signal. If we take the example of velocity the concept of the same can be very clear. If the input command suggests the type of frequency it wants and gives good command for the same, the output signal can transmit the velocity similarly making the result come properly.

 The work of the servo drives is much more than this as there is a sensor which is attached to the motor. The function of this is quite great. Once the job of the output is done that is the output signal is sent as per the input command, the sensor which is attached to the motor gives a signal back confirming the output. The work of the sensor is also to analyze the difference or the variation in the result of the input signal and the output signal. Then this information is transferred to the motor and this is done via the servo drives. The motor's functioning is actually carried out by the instructions of the servo drive. Whatever the servo drive tells the motor the motor does it. This is basically what the job of the motor is like.

 When we work with machines we realize that the motor is the one which does all the work but this is not the case because whatever the information is sent it is always via the servo drives. It may seem that the motor does the work but it's actually the servo drive who gives information about the output signal required and hence the job of the motor is much simpler than that of the servo drives. When the concept of the servo drives was started the drives were all very particular about the kind of motor they could handle. But today the type of servo drive available is mostly compatible on any type of motors. This has made the job very easy. And today the servo drives that are available work for every kind of motors mostly. The inputs of the servo drives can rectify a lot of things and hence these can be modifies also.
